MINUTES – MEMBERSHIP MEETING – February 18, 2019
Attendance: Julie Bajda, Mary Beth Bogner, Nancy Bowman, Georgann Blair, Kim Dettmer, Nancy Franks, Nancy Gavin, Ludina Mills, Betty Lou Palmer; Pauline Rickert, Karen Sigsworth, Vee Valega and Janet Willoughby.
Nancy Franks introduce Kim Dettmer. She is an artist who makes mixed media collages using various types of papers such as newspaper, books, envelopes. She has also published a book. Check out her website at www.KimDettmer.com
Betty Lou Palmer, president, brought our meeting to order. She welcomed all of us.
Minutes – Ludina moved to approve the minutes as received. Nancy Franks seconded the motion.
Financial Report – Ludina Mills, treasurer, distributed the report. Our bank balance is $3968. 96.
Correspondence – We received a thank you from North Ridgeville Community Care for the $300 from the Christmas auction.
Scholarship – We will be giving out one $1500 scholarship for 2019. Mary Beth printed off new scholarship forms to be given to the schools. Georgann will distribute to them. Instead of a breakfast for the awards, there will be a dinner on May 24 at the Ed Center.
Major School Performance – Julie made a motion to fund this project, which is $700, for artist, Bill Cotter to come to the school for the day. Nancy seconded. Motion carried.
Senior Art Show – We discussed the framing the artwork for the winner. Georgann is looking into where we can get this done since Pat Catan’s is going to be closing.
Corn Festival – Betty Lou sent out the contracts and has received seven back so far.
Olde Town Hall – Julie and Nancy Franks reported that Momma Mia was a fantastic play. Betty Palmer is making reservations for the March 3rd show which is at 3 p.m..
Betty Lou moved to close the meeting and Julie seconded the motion. Thank you, Nancy Gavin, for the delicious refreshments! We enjoyed the goodies and visiting with one another.
