MINUTES MEMBERSHIP MEETING – February 20, 2017

Attendance:  Georgann Blair, Mary Beth Bogner, Nancy Franks, Nancy Gavin, Josh Houser, Cheryl Mravec, Ludina Mills, Betty Lou Palmer, Karen Sigsworth, Veronica Valega, Janet Willoughby.

Program – Joel Keller shared with us a little bit about Cleveland’s musical history from Bach to Zelenka to Rock.  Presented a slideshow of early 20th Century, Cleveland Museum of Art (1916), Cleveland Orchestra (1912), Cleveland Institute of Music (1920).

Meeting was called to order by President, Betty Palmer.

Senior Art Gallery Award – The Arts Council will be judging the artwork during the April meeting.  The Arts Council will provide the framing for the winner’s piece.  Georgann provided the revised guidelines for the program.

Treasurer’s Report – Balance as of February 20, 2017, $4101.58.  Nancy G. motion to accept minutes; Georgann seconded.  Motion carried.

Nancy Franks made a motion to provide a $1500 scholarship to a high school senior, Nancy Gavin seconded.  All in favor. Motion carried.

Betty P. will distribute scholarship forms to North Ridgeville High School, Lake Ridge Academy and Elyria Catholic.

Correspondence – Received a thank you from the Ternes family for the tree that was planted at Shady Drive in memory of Lorrie.

Corn Festival – Betty P. has received 6 contracts so far.

NRCS Endowment Fundraiser – March 16th 3:30PM-6:30PM at Bullfrogs.  Tickets Are $20.

Ludina motioned to donate $50 for 2 baskets for a raffle.  Nancy G. seconded.  Motion carried.

Community Care – Georgann motioned to donate $200 for candy for Easter baskets.  Janet W. seconded.  Motion carried.

Thank you to Janet Willoughby for the delicious refreshments.
