MEMBERSHIP MEETING – November 18, 2013
Attendance: Mary Beth Bogner, Nancy Bowman, Margaret Brooks-Terry, Betty Day, Nancy Gavin, Betty Lou Palmer; Ilona Manista, Karen Sigsworth, Claudia Snyder, Barb Sutton, Margaret Truman, Vee Valega and Janet Willoughby.
Program – Betty Lou introduced Angie (who is the Market Manager) and Gary from the Frostville Farmer’s Market. Gary is from the North Olmsted Historical Society which was founded in 1953. Frostville is associated with Cleveland Metro Parks. They presented a slideshow of the six buildings that are at the museum. They also provided information about the market, its location, hours and what is available. The website is http://www.olmstedhistorialsociety.org.
Minutes of October – The minutes from the October 21, 2013, were approved as read.
Financial Report – Betty Day reported that our total bank balance as of November 18 was
$5,077.82. The financial report was approved as read. There were no additions or corrections.
Membership –Thank you to those who have paid their dues or given a donation. Currently we have received $1855. Membership dues are still $20 per year. If you have not paid your dues, you may still send a check to our PO Box 39283 or bring it to the meeting. If you are not sure if you paid your dues, please contact Nancy Gavin or Betty Day.
Major School Performance – We donate to a different North Ridgeville City School each year for an art performance of their choice. Recently one of the schools was not able to take advantage of our donation, so we will be donating $400 to two schools this year, Wilcox and the high school.
Christmas Dinner Party – On Monday, December 16 we will have our annual Christmas Dinner Party at the North Ridgeville Library. We will have a delicious catered dinner by Sterks, along with entertainment by Rich Gallo, pianist. Mary Beth will send out the invitations. We will have a White Elephant Auction with the proceeds going to Community Care. The NR Historical Society will be invited to join us. Ilona motioned to charge $10 per person, Margaret seconded, all approved.
Betty moved to adjourn the meeting and Vee Valega seconded the motion.
