The February meeting of the North Ridgeville Arts Council will feature doll house aficionado – Dawn Reese – owner and operator of Dolls and Minis in Wellington, Ohio.
Dawn will speak about the history of dollhouses, the hobby today and the different crafts that are involved. She’ll reveal photos of antique houses from the Museum of Childhood in London and have some miniatures on display.
“I had a doll house as a child,” said Reese, a native of Hartfordshire, England, about 30 miles north of London, who came to the U.S. 25 years ago.
“A lot of my customers are men. Many of them have the woodworking and carpentry skills needed to build these houses. As long as your sight is good and you have good manual dexterity, you can do miniatures,” Reese said.
The program will be presented at the North Ridgeville Arts Council meeting on Monday, February 20th at 7 p.m. at the North Ridgeville Branch Library (35700 Bainbridge Road in North Ridgeville). The public is invited to attend at no cost.
