Minutes of February 21, 2011 membership meeting

Program: Mark Madere of SpectraLight Photography & Design gave us a presentation on how his company can restore photographs that are faded, torn, cracked or that have been damaged in a flood. He can also transfer VHS videos to DVD.

He can also create slide shows from photographs and put them to music.

Attendance: Mary Beth Bogner, Nancy Bowman, Betty Day, Nancy Gavin, Lonnie Hart, Scott Hosler, Mark Madere, Lillian Mattis, Betty Lou Palmer, Karen Sigsworth, Jerry Toich, Margaret Truman, Vee Valega, Janet & Alan Willoughby.

Jerry Toich, president, brought the meeting to order.

Treasurer’s Report: Nancy Bowman reported: our bank balance is $2,679.85. There was discussion about having another fundraiser.

Memberships: are due March 31, 2011. Thank you.

Scholarship: Betty Lou Palmer made a motion to provide a $1000 scholarship to a high school senior, Alan Willoughby seconded. All in favor. Motion carried.

Arts and Crafts Fair at the Corn Festival: Betty Lou Palmer have received 7 contracts so far.

Arts in the schools: Janet Willoughby is waiting to hear back from Mr. Green, Principal at Lear North, about a program they will be doing.

Reflections Art Show: Scott Hosler reported that the show will be March 26th at the North Ridgeville High School. 22 pieces have been submitted.

Old Town Hall Theater: Showing the Secret Garden.

Arts Council Website – Mark Madere has set up a website for Arts Council. You can check it out at www.ridgevilleartscouncil.wordpress.com. We need to give him information to put on the website. He said there is no cost involved. If you have any information that should be on our website, let us know. This is an exciting new adventure for us! Thank you so much, Mark.
